Why hire a family photographer?
I believe having photographs of your family is such a gift to yourself, to your children and to future generations who will love pouring over photos and hearing the stories those photos illicit.
For me photographs are invested moments, and I save those moments, for later, and one day, if I'm lucky, one of those moments will take my breath away, remind me of the spaces before and after the photograph.
It will be no surprise to those who know me
that my greatest passion has always been photography
I believe that photography must be in my genes!
My father was an avid photographer, and he took his camera everywhere with him. My earliest childhood memories are of him with a camera in his hands. The world was very different then; access to photographs was not as common as it is these days. Life events were mainly undocumented, with only fragments of memories allowing us to remember. However, my father was committed to not let those memories fade...
Being my father’s daughter, I grabbed the camera at my earliest opportunity and was happy snapping anything and everything!
When my daughter was born, my husband bought me a professional camera, and the desperate need to stop time and hold onto those moments made me understand what my father meant all those years ago! His idea was that sometimes the pictures in our heads are just not enough. Since opening my small business, I have been privileged to be invited into the lives of many families. I feel honoured that they have trusted me to help preserve those precious memories for them too.
